Napper's Mite about 1889

By 1929 the Nappers Mite Almshouses had become little used and their condition was poor. Napier Sturt Alington relinquished any further family involvement with the almshouse. he arranged that the charity and its endowments should be administered and managed by the trustees of the Chubb's and Whetstone's Almshouses that would become known, as "the Trustees of the Dorchester Municipal Charities". From this point the number of residents declined along with the charity.

Today Chubb, Whetstone and Napper's Almshouses remain a charity and are registered with the Housing Corporation. They provide sheltered units for 32 elsewhere in the town with no requirement for regular prayer by the residents
