Reading Room ~ now the Parish Office

The reading room was originally built as a farm store. It passed into the hands of the Scutt family in 1921 who gave the property to trustees in the same year.

It was converted as a reading room for the village as a memorial to four villagers who lost their lives in the first world war.

By the 1980's the building had become derilict. In was renivated once more with a grant from British Petrolium following thier oil exploration in the village in 1986.

The reading room is now used as the office and meeting room for the Winterborne Saint Martin Parish Council
