BAPTISTERIA SACRA
An Iconographic Index of Baptismal Fonts.
Baptisteria Sacra is an academic project that aims to create a catalogue-inventory of ancient baptismal fonts. Based at the University of Toronto, Canada, where it is planned to create a resource for researchers in the fields of art history, history, liturgy, etc., by providing a corpus of all the extant as well as the lost baptismal fonts from the beginning of Christianity to the year 1700. We try to engage the collaboration of local people who have ready access to the fonts. There are several samples of the work we do in the "guest database" section of our information page at:
