Martinstown Open Days - 2nd and 3rd July 2005
Held throughout the village in aid of the Martinstown Village Hall Committee. Villagers opened their gardens, there were tractor rides around local farms and village organisations arranged cream teas, raffles and other events. The church was open and decorated with flowers and The Durnovaria Band accompanied us with hymn singing. Once again, Ann Matthews, Chairman of the Committee prodded and cajoled all of us to work towards an extremely successful event. She says ever more complicated new regulations, extensive form filling and licensing arrangements imposed on us by the West Dorset District Council will prevent her from arranging this event again.
