FONT NOTES Dates from the middle of the 12th century, the font found in the north ailse of tub form, with heavy moulding at top flanked by two bands of cable ornament, vetical scallop ornament at base, ogee mounted plinth.
This early font was discarded at the time of the church's rebuilding in 1876. It was replaced with a font found at the west end of the nave beneath the tower and described by Long as "a poor modern piece". The earlier font was rediscoverd in the undergrowth of the graveyerd and returned to the church in 1930. Today it is in use and found in the north ailse. A large part of this font suffered damage and has been expertly repaired. It is not possible to determine whether this is recent damage caused by the Victorians or whether it suffered the same fate as the font at nearby Puddletown.
